About India:

India officially the Republic of India is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by area, the second-most populous country, and the most populous democracy in the world. Bounded by the Indian Ocean on the south, the Arabian Sea on the southwest, and the Bay of Bengal on the southeast, it shares land borders with Pakistan to the west; China, Nepal, and Bhutan to the north; and Bangladesh and Myanmar to the east. In the Indian Ocean, India is in the vicinity of Sri Lanka and the Maldives; it's Andaman and Nicobar Islands share a maritime border with Thailand and Indonesia.
                          
     
                     

India is a land of rich heritage and culture. Indian cultural history spans more than 4,500 years. There are probably hundreds of major and minor languages and many hundreds of recognized dialects in India. India remains one of the most ethnically diverse countries in the world. Apart from its many religions and sects, India is home to innumerable castes and tribes. Contemporary India’s increasing physical prosperity and cultural dynamism despite continued domestic challenges and economic inequality are seen in its well-developed infrastructure and a highly diversified industrial base, in its pool of scientific and engineering personnel (one of the largest in the world), in the pace of its agricultural expansion, and in its rich and vibrant cultural exports of music, art, architecture, literature, and cinema. Indian music ranges over various traditions and regional styles. India has diverse clothing styles. Every place has its own traditional clothing. 

                            

India has very beautiful flora and fauna. Indian cuisine consists of a wide variety of regional and traditional cuisines. Given the range of diversity in soil type, climate, culture, ethnic groups, and occupations, these cuisines vary substantially from each other, using locally available spices, herbs, vegetables, and fruit.

India has its own ancient, rich, diverse and beautiful history. India was also known as “THE GOLDEN BIRD” in ancient times because of its richness in resources, money, and culture.

Indian History is a topic of interest to many including foreigners because of the cultures and civilizations that existed in this sub-continent. History of India can be studied under political, cultural, religious or economic heads.

Indian History can be classified as three major categories:

1. Ancient India History
2. Medieval India History
3. Modern India History
